What is Rip Van Winkle in Hellsing?
Rip Van Winkle is a member of the Millennium forces and an antagonist in the manga Hellsing. Along with Zorin Blitz and Schrödinger, she briefly makes a cameo in a flashback during Hellsing III, and also during the ending credits. She makes her full appearance in OVA IV.
Is Rip Van Winkle dead Hellsing?
Technically, Rip Van Winkle died twice. Since Alucard devoured her, she became one of his Familiars and was summoned to kill on his behalf. She and the other Familiars burned to death when Alexander Anderson stabs Alucard in the head. Interestingly, this fate is exclusive to Hellsing: Ultimate.

Why did Walter betray Alucard?
Alucard goes on to present what he believes is the reason for Walter’s betrayal; his fear of becoming old and useless. To prove his abilities to himself, Walter desired to destroy Alucard and allowed this obsession to consume him. Walter seems to take this to heart, as he stops his attack on Alucard.
